Moreno Valley
The word Moreno is Spanish for brown, named after the founder Frank E. Brown. Located in Riverside County and was incorporated in 1984. The city motto is “People, Pride, Progress”. Top employers in the area include Amazon, March Air Reserve Base, Riverside University Health Systems Medical Center and Ross Dress for Less Distribution center. There are over 540 acres of trails and parks to explore, as well as, newly developed retail centers. In 2021, the city opened the Civic Center Amphitheater which hosts movies and concerts. Residents can always identify their city by looking towards the northwest end of the city and seeing the letter “M” at the top of the Box Springs Mountain.
